Using the WSU Employee Tuition Assistance Benefit for Training

One of the benefits of working full time at Wayne State University is that one can get tuition assistance for Wayne State credit classes up to a certain number of credits per semester and per year.

This same tuition assistance can be used for non-credit classes, for example:

Keep in mind that whether you take credit classes or non-credit classes, they both count towards your tuition assistance limits. For example, if you are eligible to take two courses in a semester and you take one credit course, you are only eligible for one non-credit course that semester. If you take two credit courses that semester, you cannot take any non-credit course and vice versa. Also, as for all tuition assistance, you must be an employee of WSU for the full semester.

Note: At this point WSU employees are unable to use Non-Credit Tuition Assistance to pay for New Horizons Computer Learning Center courses; however, a department still has the option to pay for the courses out of its budget. Organization & Employee Development is revising the policy and investigating ways to still meet the computer application skills training needs of the university community.
