What Is a Group AccessID?

A group AccessID is an ID that is created for use by a group of people in one department. Specially designated group IDs can be used to send bulk e-mail announcements about university events.

A Group AccessID is a privilege. The department that gets one must abide by the WSU executive order on Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources.

Who Can Get a Group AccessID?

Any WSU department can get a group AccessID. The request form must be signed by the dean or director.

How does a WSU department get a Group AccessID?

To get a Group AccessID:

  1. Click to obtain a Group AccessID RequestPDF file form.
  2. Fill it in online using Adobe Reader.
  3. Make sure that you describe your group and designate a name for the group AccessID (example: the group AccessID for the C&IT Help Desk is — helpdesk).
  4. Print the form.
  5. Obtain the signature of your dean or director.
  6. Send the completed form to

How Long Is a Group AccessID Valid?

Group AccessIDs are valid as long as they are needed.
