Administrative Desktop Computer Specifications at Wayne State

The following hardware and software specifications are the requirements for computers Wayne State employees use to access the Banner Administrative System and Cognos applications on campus or from home. If your computer and/or the software on it is below these performance levels, you need to UPGRADE NOW.

Before upgrading your desktop computer or software, it is important that you consult with the technical support staff in your school, college, division, or department for advice. If you do not have local technical support in your unit, contact the Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) Help Desk at (313) 577-4778 or helpdesk@wayne.edu.

For online information about institutional desktop computer puchases, visit the WSU Purchasing Department's Website and click the "Desktop Computer Ordering" link in the left column for information about WSU-discounted prices from authorized vendors.

There are other Web browsers beside Internet Explorer that are vendor-certified to work properly with WSU administrative systems. After Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) completes testing on alternative browsers, we will include all acceptable browsers.
