The WSU CallTracker Tracking System
The Wayne State University CallTracker System is an online:
- tracking and escalation service that is available to participating WSU departments, and
- a facility where WSU faculty and staff can order software from the WSU Software Clearinghouse.
How CallTracker Works
Tracking – anyone with a WSU AccessID can check on a CallTracker ticket.
Create a new ticket – only authorized persons are allowed to create new tickets or make a change to tickets.
Tracking and creating ticket
- A person in the WSU community contacts a participating WSU department regarding an issue that needs resolution.
- The staff member who is contacted:
- creates a CallTracker ticket regarding the issue,
- assigns it to a specific person for resolution, and
- assigns a priority number.
- Both the person who reported the issue (customer) and the person to whom the ticket is assigned are sent an e-mail message with the ticket number and the URL for the Website where the ticket can be tracked online.
- To view your CallTracker tickets, log in to WSU Pipeline and click the Computing tab.
Set up an authorized account
In order to create or update a ticket or search by name or group, you must have authorized access from your department and have that permission entered into the CallTracker system.
To set up an authorized account, e-mail helpdesk@wayne.edu. Include in your e-mail note:
- your workgroup (the unit that you work for) and
- your WSU AccessID
If your group does not have an active CallTracker group, also include how you would like your group identified in the system. Note: Verification
with the workgroup/department supervisor/manager may be necessary prior to group creation.
In most cases IDs and groups will be created within one business day of the request.
