Browser comparison guide

This page compares popular features between the Web browsers that Computing & Information Technology (C&IT) supports. See C&IT Help Desk supported desktop software. All these Web browsers come already installed on the computer operating system, or are available for free to download.

Terminology:

A plug-in is also known as an add-on or an extension. A plug-in is a small piece of software that enhances a larger piece of software, in this case your Web browser.

Be careful:

Since plug-in installations alter your browser, and system files, it is extremely important that you do not install just any plug-in that you come across on the Web. When in doubt, don't install; your computer may become unstable.
