WSU Lecture Capture allows faculty members to easily record classroom lectures, meetings, speeches, and other events using Echo360 technology. You can record any combination of audio, video, and information on your computer screen and easily publish your recordings to Blackboard. Students are able to review lectures anytime.
WSU offers the following lecture capture services:
- Classroom Appliance Capture – dedicated hardware capture device installed in the classroom; supports scheduled and on-demand recordings
- Classroom Podium Capture – software installed on classroom desktop or podium PC; supports scheduled and on-demand recordings
- Personal Capture – software installed on instructor’s laptop or desktop (PC or MAC); supports instructor-driven on-demand recordings, typically captured outside the classroom
Note: Lecture Capture recordings will be retained for nine semesters and then purged from the system.
- provides faculty with a fully automated lecture capture and publishing solution
- enables students to review lectures in a variety of ways
- includes tools for faculty to create, manage, and publish recordings using their own laptop or desktop computers
- Automated Classroom Capture: Instructors teaching courses in classrooms equipped with lecture capture technology will receive an email extending an invitation to use Lecture Capture to record term lectures. The email will provide a link where instructors can log in with their AccessID and password to provide more information.
- Adhoc Classroom Capture: Instructors interested in recording meetings, speeches or other events can submit a Classroom Technology Request Form to schedule an adhoc recording in a General Purpose Classroom or Lecture Hall.
- Personal Capture: Instructors interested in using the Personal Capture software for recording lectures directly on a laptop or desktop computer can request the software at https://calltracker.wayne.edu/forms/Echo/. After submitting this form, you will be added to the Blackboard Personal Capture organization where you can find training and support information.
