About the National ITFS Association (NIA)
Established in 1978, the National ITFS Association is a non-profit, professional organization of licensees, applicants and others interested in activities related to the Instructional Television Fixed Service (ITFS). ITFS for many years was the FCC’s name for the only licensed spectrum in the United States designated for use by educators. ITFS was renamed by the FCC in 2005 as the Educational Broadband Service (EBS) following a successful effort initiated by the NIA and commercial broadband providers within the Wireless Communications Association International to change the FCC’s spectrum regulations to enable advanced broadband services in the band, which is from 2.5 to 2.7 GHz. NIA’s goals are to gather and exchange information about the services, to gather data on utilization of services, to act as a conduit for those seeking information or assistance about the services, and to represent the interests of licensees and applicants. The Board of Directors has regional, at-large, and industry representatives. Details: http://itfs.org.

About the Wireless Communications Association International (WCA)
