Description

The PC Clinic is available exclusively for Wayne State University students, faculty and staff for personal, non-University owned computers. WSU departments that have University owned computers in need of service should contact their local technical support staff.

Getting Started

Before you visit the PC Clinic, call the C&IT Help Desk at (313) 577-4778 and try to resolve your computer problem over the phone. If, after speaking with the Help Desk staff, the problem cannot be resolved you will be referred to the PC Clinic for additional assistance.

Services Offered

The PC Clinic provides free and paid computer repair services, for hardware and software issues such as, failed hard drives, virus/spyware detection and removal and connections to WSU networks.

The PC Clinic will provide Front Counter computing diagnostics and repair at no charge (approx. 20 minutes max).

If your problem cannot be solved at the front counter you can sign the computer in for any of our paid services.

Turnaround time for paid services is typically three to five business days. If you need to use a computer while yours is being repaired, try one of the many that are available on the WSU campus.

System Requirements

The PC Clinic only supports computers with at least the following specifications:
  • Windows: Dual Core Intel or equivalent, 2GB RAM, Windows Vista SP2 or later
  • Macintosh: Intel Core Duo, 1 GB RAM, Mac OS X 10.5.x
