Secure your Computer System: File Sharing
Other Safe Computing Principles
File sharing is a feature that allows you to share the files or folders on
your computer over the network. By default, Windows operating systems prior
to Windows XP Service Pack 2 have this feature turned on; but,
in most cases, there is no need for it; and it represents a security vulnerability.
If you are NOT purposely sharing files with other people's computers in your
home or office, turn this feature OFF!
